The Chablis Les Clos from Samuel Billaud is a big and quite dense effort. The nose is quite interesting with very expressive yellow orchard fruits … slightly exotic and spiced by a very delicate and vibrant minerality. On the palate rich and intense with a quite dense feel … some aspargus notes … and a slightly monolithic expression .. just like quite many 04 white Burgundies. It’s a big and good wine .. but lacking a bit of nerve in my view.
The Chablis Montmains 1er cru from Maison Romane is in my view not a fine effort. In the nose slightly reduced, with yellow orchard fruits and hints of pineapple and peach .. somewhat oxidative and yeasty. On the palate rich and very aromatic, with a quite powerful acidic framework … also here slightly oxidative. Is lacking some vibrant freshness and energy with its rich and dense flavors … not really my kind of Chablis.
The Willian Fevre Chablis Vaulorent 2010 is a brilliant Chablis. The bouquet is showing beautiul pure fruit – ripe notes of orchard fruits – with notes of honey, citrus finished with a stony minerality with elemnts of seashells. On the palate rich but cool fruit – fine midpalate weigth and intensity – lovely balanced with a fine mineralic focus and a hint of lemon zest. A truly fine Chablis, with a lovely complexity and balance – a very impressive effort from Fevre.

Lovely rich palate, with a very pure and fresh midpalate fruit, a good long finish with a fine mineralic focus and a hint of lemon zest. A beautiful Chablis, with a lovely complexity and a very fine potential. Impressive and drinking beautifully – If you like Chablis … then try the 2010s from Fevre.
The Chablis Les Preuses 2011 is a fine effort … and a beautifully made Chablis. In the bouquet apple, citrus combined with oyster shells, oysters and a hint of gunpowder. On the palate a lovely fruit with a rich somewhat exotic core of intensity. It’s well focused with very good length and balance. A beautiful Chablis.
William Fevre really succeded in the 2010 vintage and the Chablis Bougros is a truly lovely Chablis. In the bouquet lovely minerality combined with white flowers, yellow fruit and fine citrus notes. On the palate powerful minerality with a very fine fruit intensity. It’s quite muscular and full-bodied. Very nicely balanced with a juicy core of ripe fruit and a very long focused finish. It’s fresh, offers good complexity and excellent concentration, A fine Chablis – quite impressive effort from Fevre.
William Fevre really succeded in the 2010 vintage and even the entry level wines, like 1er cru Les Lys, are very lovely wines. In the bouquet lovely mineral notes combined with white flowers, yellow fruit and citrus notes. On the palate nicely balanced with a core of ripe fruit and a quite tight and focused finish. It’s pure and offers good concentration and quite some complexity, A very good Chablis – Recommended.
La Forest 2010 from Dauvissat is a delightful Chablis. Lovely open bouquet with lemon, oyster shells, quite strong minerality and some elements of exotic fruits. On the palate lovely balance with a impressively rich fruit, a very nice fresh acidity and strong minerality. Good concentration and a long mineralic finish. It’s a very pure and transparant wines, with a good expression of the terroir and all the fine caracteristics of the 2010 vintage. Good complexity but first and foremot a very drinkable and lovely Chablis

The Chablis the Preuses 2009 from Dublere is a typical 09 white Burgundy. In the nose quite exotic yellow fruits – mango, pear and a slight citrus note. On the palate quite dense and sweet chardonnay fruit. Lacking some freshness and acidity as many other 09 whites. Still it’s a respectable effort from Dublere, but if you like a vibrant and fresh white Burgundy – look elsewhere.
(Drink From 2018) Good – 87p
The 2008 vintage produced some wonderful white wines, and the Chablis Les Preuses from Domaine Dublère is no exception. In the nose fine minerality, chalk and some notes of lime and citrus. On the palate a fine crisp acidity, good fruit and minerality. Good lengtht, and while the complexity is good it’s not really impressive. Indeed a fine Chablis.
(Drink from 2018) Very Good – 90p
