A rare guest in my glass – Haegelen-Jayer Clos de Vougeot V.V. The 2005 edition of this quite rare wine is big and somewhat rustic. The nose is packed with red and dark cherries, liquorice and even a hint of cassis. On the palate quite full bodied, with subble and rich fruit. A big wine with good length and power. The fruit seems slightly stewed .. and perhaps not as crisp and transparant as the best 2005s. Summing up .. a fine wine – need 10 years to unfold the potential, but is drinking quite well now.

- Visit to Domaine Rougeot -Tasting the Unsulphured ’22 WhitesSometimes articles are difficult to construct, and this is one of the worst so far, as I want to synthesize its meat and then clearly explain it, so that the vigneron involved gets the credit he deserves.
