On Sunday July 15th a hailstorm hit the Premeaux area – damage reported from the northern part of Premeaux to the northern part of Ladoix.
Severe damage repported by some growers, and as always the damage is rather random.
Nicolas Faure reported 50% damage on his Premeaux cuvées i.e. his Gamay and Bourgogne rouge – a significant loss of quantity sadly.
Charles Lachaux of Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux reported damage in Clos des Corvées Pagets after the hail storm – this area was also hit by another hailstorm on July 3rd – so quite some damage.
Maison Chatereves was hit in their new Aligote vineyard between Ladoix and Corgoloin. Damage estimated to 20 to 25% …
Etienne Julien of Domaine Gerard Julien reports severe damage in his Côte de Nuits village located in Comblanchien.

Presumably the area of Premeaux and Comblanchien was most affected by the events. Some reports from Fixin and Gevrey about some hail – the northern part of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne, Chambolle and Morey seem to have avoided the hail impact.
Indeed sad to see the damage around Premeaux – hope that the weather will ensure a good continuation of the growing season and a safe harvest.
Harvest will presumably be in the beginning of September – or even late August in the Côte de Beaune – for the early pickers.
