Producer Visits - 2016 vintage

The tasting of the 2016 vintage began already in January 2017, with a few samples.

First larger tastings began in late March 2017 and continued with tasting in June 2017, and will continue in October and November 2017.

Finally I expect to taste more January and March 2018 - ending around the Grands Jours de Bourgogne.

Visit Domaine Pierre Labet, tasting of the red 2016s

By Steen Öhman February 11, 2018 - Leave a Comment

The wines of Domaine Pierre Labet are in my view a bit overlooked - and overshadowed by the wines made at Chateau de la Tour, the top brand of the François Labet "group". While Chateau de la Tour is renown for making some of the very best wines on the Clos de Vougeot vineyard - François Labet, …

Visit Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair – Re-tasting of the 2016s from cask

By Steen Öhman January 28, 2018 -

Re-taste of the 2016s from Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair ... a delightful occupation. I first tasted the 2016s in June 2017, and while most of the wines showed well on that occasion, the extra six months of elevage have defined, detailed and clarified the picture of the wines. No doubt …

Visit Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – tasting of the 2016s from cask

By Steen Öhman January 24, 2018 -

On a rainy and cold day in Burgundy it’s nice to focus on something positive and invigorating ... and what could be better that a visit at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti tasting the latest vintage - 2016 in this case. The tasting this year was conducted by Alexandre Bernier, who also was in charge …

Visit Domaine Dublère – tasting of the 2016s from cask

By Steen Öhman January 23, 2018 -

Good to be back at Domaine Dublère to taste the 2016s. Blair Pethel also suffered from the struggle with mother nature in this vintage, as the Savigny-Les-Beaune region was badly hit by the April 2016 frost. It's sad to see how the growers in this area of the Côte have to endure frost, hail and …
