The Organic Wine Live Tour 2011 – a cocktail of 16 organic wine producers, 8 restaurants in Copenhagen, 40 guests, a bus and some good organisers.
This year the organizer Sune Rosforth from Rosforth & Rosforth was able to gather organic wine producers from Spain, Portugal, Italy and different regions of France.
As allways Sune and his crew was creating a very nice atmosphere with jokes, some very nice people, and a lot of fine organic wine.
Party Time
Very simple concept .. 40 people travelling trough Copenhagen tasting Organic wines at different locations – mostly bistros, fine restaurants + one wine bar. At each stop the restaurant serves a small or large appetizer. I will only mention some of the wines tasted!
As last year Noma was the starting point, with a small appetizer and a glass of Vinho Verde from the portugeese producer Antionio Lopes Ribeiro.
Next stop was Krogs Fiskerestaurant, one of the oldest restaurants in Denmark, where wines from Emmanuel Giboulet in Burgundy and Marc Tempe from Alsace was served. Really enjoyed the Beaune village from Giboulet, had a very good balance for a 2009.
Third stop was the very beautiful wine bar, Ved Stranden 10, where we had a very nice Pinot Noir from Spain!!!! The wine – LA LLOPETERA – is made by Joan Ramon Escoda, and was surprisingly elegant and with a good balance and freshness, not a very complex wine, but a pleasure.
Second heat of restaurants
Next stop was at Gustavs Bistro and Butik, a new place opening in the beginning of September. At Gustavs we had a very nice chicken dish, with two Sancerre’s from Sebastian Riffault. Very nice to see Gustavs is ready to open the doors in Classensgade.
Fifth stop was at Paustian, where Bo Jacobsen and his wife Lisbeth served some very nice homemade sausages, and other charcuterie. Italian wines from three producers was served, a very nice Barbera from Cascina degli Ulivi, and a very organic and wild Dolchetto from Vittorio Bera & Figli. The Dolchetto was a very interesting wine, not your everyday Dolchetto, could be fun to taste again.
Next stop was Formel B one of the very best restaurants in Copenhagen, the chef made a wonderful dessert with sea-buckthorn, very nice balance between sweetness and acidity. Michel Auge served a semi sweet sparkling rose (Bubulles) to the dessert, a very interesting combination.
After Formel B we arrived to Kødbyens Fiskebar, where they served oysters with two Crements from Château de Passavant (Francois David). Final stop was Lele, where we had a sparkling wine from Domaine Mosse. A very nice tour – cheers!
