Domaine Ponsot began yesterday – and will presumably continue some days more.
The yields and the quality
The 2017 vintage is blessed with very fine quantities – and while they are better for the reds than for the whites, it’s without doubt the best vintage quantity wise since 2009.
Some would say back to normal, others would even say that it’s a big harvest.
Regarding the quality – in general beutiful grapes and very happy vignerons.
The most severe problem encountered seems to be the drought. Some vineyards seriously lacked water just before the harvest, and while some water came – some vines have suffered from hydric stress in some places.
So not all is great … but lets see when the wines are trough malo before we start to evaluate the quality. So far so good though …
This was the end of the Winehogs Harvest News 2017 …. thanks for following my posts…
