The 2017 harvest has now reached the core of Côte de Nuits. Today Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux are harvesting their magnificent plot in the bottom of Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots – just above La Romanée.

Meanwhile the fermentation have begun in the cellars in Côte de Beaune – here is a first glimpse of one of the 2017s from Domaine Leflaive – cant wait to taste this.

On the quality side some rain is wanted in many places as the vines have been stressed due to the dry conditions.
It’s expected that many will start the harvest of the reds in Côte de Nuits around September 5th.

Werner Van Damme says
It rained from Wednesday afternoon till Tuesday morning, hope this will be enough. Vines carried lots of clusters, grapes have thick skins, but little juice and we hope this rain will do the trick. Anyway, it all points towards a quality vintage with, finally’, a normal quantity.
