Grands Jours de Bourgogne 2018 has now started – and with that a tremendous lineup of tastings – some a part of the official program, and some held by growers, agents, and associations – in connection with the official program.
It’s impossible to attend all tastings, and it’s therefore important to choose and plan wisely – to make the most of the week.
My week starts out with the Diva Beaune tasting – a tasting that includes a number of top end producers. The Diva tasting is always well organised and include some real treats.
The main names today were Domaine Ramonet, Domaine Lafon, and Domaine Trapet but also new stars like Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet, Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux – a great occation to taste some top Burgundies.
The Diva event this year was held at Chateau de Santenay … a beautifully restored castle in the center of Santenay.
First out Stéphane Thibodaux winemaker at Lafon – who was presenting the Lafon wines together with Dominique Lafon. The 2015s are showing very well for the vintage.
Next Armand Heitz from Domaine Heitz-Lochardet, showing 2015 reds and both 2015 and 2016 whites …. was especially delighted to taste the Meursault Perrieres 2015 … showing still more focus.
Last but not least Marc Soyard … was showing the charming lineup of Domaine de la Cras .. very enjoyable wines.
Lovely wines served by Diva … and water it seems!
