The Cathiard Aux Reignots is slightly in the background, as the Les Suchots is regardeded as the bigger wine of the two – and clearly no three after the two stars Aux Malconsort and Romanée Saint-Vivant,
While the wines have always been very fine from this estate the quality has clearly taken a big jump forward since Sebastien Cathiard took over in 2011.
The Aux Reignots is in my view a bit overlooked and I have therefore taken a closer look at this lovely cuvée.

Aux Reignots is located just above La Romanee between Les Petits Monts to the north and Champs Perdrix to the south – see map below.

The vineyard is 1.62 ha – split in 20 plots and there are currently 10 owners on the vineyard.

There are 10 owners on Aux Reignots currently … but the ownership could be even more fragmented within the different families.
