The tasting Grandes Maisons Grands Cru during Grands Jours de Bourgogne included the opportunity to taste some of the big wines from the 2015 vintage – wines I rarely have the chance to taste and evaluate from bottle.
The Bourchard Pere et Fils Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2015 – is a balanced and refined Bèze. The nose show layers of intense and rather cool fruit – detailed and elegant. On the palate fine intensity and length, showing the refined side of the Clos de Bèze vineyard. Made from bought grapes – presumably from the large Damoy holdings.
(Drink from 2033) – Outstanding (94 – 95p) – Tasted 15/03/2018.
