The Volnay 1999 from Michel Lafarge is a very rustic and rather disappointing effort. In the nose cherries, tar and few hints of sous-bois - rough and not 100% clean. On the palate edgy and rustic with some dusty tannins and a openly knit slightly fading fruit. Not very enjoyable ... very old school …
