The 1990 Canon La Gaffeliereis was a wonderful wine in it’s youth and has continued to perform well – up to now. The bouquet shows ripe fruit, plum with a hint of red berries and tea. On the palate quite developed with loads of lush fruit, the high alcohol is starting to show as the fruit is loosing power with the ageing. This example showed slight hints of tea and madeirazation, and seemed more developed than it shold be a this point (hot cellar perhaps). Still a fine wine, but given the quite high alcohol level I would drink them within the next 5 years.
