The 2000 Canon La Gaffeliere is still very youthfull. The nose is crammed with ripe black fruit, with notes of cedar and pencil. A pure and classic bouquet – still rather closed. On the palate – same story – quite tight dark fruit, very ripe tannins and a medium body. Quite undeveloped for a 2000, and need time to unfold and show complexity and the full potential of the wine. Given time this will be a refined and elegant wine – very fine effort.
