The 1964 Cheval Blanc has a special place in my wine memory. First tasted at Resturant La Pyramide in Vienne, second time was at a memorable dinner at Emerils in New Orleans. The bottle served at Emerils in 2002 was amazing. The bouquet was utterly seductive, with layers of aromas – cherry, raspberry, cedar and truffles. The palate also stunning, with lush and silky ripe and mature tannins. Mature but still fresh and vibrant fruit, medium to full body, very good length and great complexity. A wonderfull and memorable wine – and a true pleasure.
