The 2000 Lamothe-Cissac is a good mature wine. In the nose classic mature claret notes liquorice, penzil, leather, meat, cassis and cedar. On the palate rich quite silky openly knit fruit, a good backbone of acidity and classical Bordeaux tannins. A very nice wine at this level, but is somehow lacking some mid-palate concentration and depth. Like a lot of the lesser wines from the 2000 vintage it’s very charming, open and a bit unfocused. A lovely wine for drinking – enjoy!
