Chateau Leoville Poyferre 2008

The Leoville Poyferre 2008 is a good effort from this slightly overlooked Chateau. In the bouquet sweet ripe cassis, cedar with notes of black cherry, liquorice and toasted oak. On the palate fine pure fruit and nicely structured with good ripe tannins. On the negative side it lacks a little concentration in the mid palate and finish. A fine effort, and a pleasure if you like a traditional claret.
