The Pontet Canet 2008 is a quite special wine. Pontet Canet has changed to organic winemaking during the last decade achieved full Agence Bio (AB) organic certification in the 2010 vintage. This is in my view really showing in the wines, as they seems fresher and more refined. The bouquet in the 2008 is slightly closed, but showing blackberies, cassis/creme de cassis, pencil and other rather classical notes. The palate is however quite organic in style, more fruity with a lot of ripe intense fruit in the mid palate. The fruit seems very juicy, fresh and free compared to other 2008s. The wine seems quite delicate, but in reality it’s very intense and quite powerfull. A very fine effort … impressive.
