I shouldn’t. I really shouldn’t. We all do it – and perhaps should do it more!
Summer wines are casual, and for drinking with no remorse: Taste and drink with pleasure and joy rather than thinking of value and future potential. Wines should be there to enjoy without consideration or financial speculations – casual summer wines!
The Domaine Trapet Latricieres-Chambertin 2018 is genuinely refined, and is energetic and dramatically lively for a 2018 – what a wine! The Combe de Grisard, located just above the vineyard, gives it its unique coolness, and with beautiful acidity, this is vivid and intense, without the inky darkness of so many 2018s. Its vivid energy combines with a delicately appealing, hedonistic lift. This is very refined and enjoyable for the vintage. What a beauty; I do believe in the best 2018s.
