The Auslese LGK (long gold cap) 1983 from Fritz Haag is a fantastic wine. In the bouquet coffee, caramel, butterscotch with fine riesling aromas. On the palate quite heavy with a slight burnt caramel note, fine minerality and acidity to balance the sweetness. A quite heavy Auslese, but still a good freshness after almost 30 years. A very good effort in 1983, still getting better and will keep at least 10 years more.
