The 2023 harvest of reds and whites has begun in the Cote de Nuits, and will accelerate over the coming weekend.
Yesterday, Comte Liger-Belair harvested some of the fruit in Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos des Grandes Vignes – the chardonnay and the young pinot noir vines at the bottom of the vineyard.
Liger-Belair plans to finish his domaine’s harvest at the beginning of the next week, around September 12. So full steam ahead during the fine, summer-like days forecast for this week.
Today, Domaine Henri Gouges will harvest its whites from various plots, including the original Pinot Gouges plot. The domaine still start picking reds on September 11.
Many estates plan to start this weekend, September 8-11.
The weather forecast is for hot and sunny all week, with temperatures beyond 30C. Hot, in other words, meaning things can develop rapidly.
Good luck to all!
