La Tache 1985 was quite disappointing. Very nice pure and ripe pinot fruit, and some minerality, but it seem to lack the struture and the finesse of a great wine. Medium length and complexity, far from matching the level of 1990 La Tache, should be better in a year like 1985. Still it's a fine wine! …
