The Bouchard ownership on the Montrachet hill is mindboggling, with three vineyards in a row climbing up the hill: Montrachet, then Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte, and finally “regular” Chevalier-Montrachet.
It’s one of the most beautiful collections of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. The Montrachet holding is 0.8894 ha at the bottom of the hill, La Cabotte is 0.2104 ha in the middle, and the excellent Chevalier-Montrachet is 2.3295 ha, and the topic of this article.
The Bouchard end of Chevalier
The Bouchard plots are located at the southern end of the Chevalier appellation. Bouchard has ten plots clustered together which nearly complete an entire block of the vineyard. There are four plots located within the “Bouchard section” that are owned by Jacques Prieur and Domaine de la Vougeraie.
