Weingut Eva Fricke SELIGMACHER – Lorchhäuser Seligmacher Riesling QbA 2015 .. German wines and their long names!!. I have mainly been a Mosel fanatic for the last 25 years .. but lately Rheingau has caught my attention with some gorgeous wines. This Seligmacher from Eva Fricke gave me a truly gratifying moment on a cold December evening. The bouquet offer marvelous energetic slate driven fruit with notes of white peach and perhaps a hint of passion fruit, a lovely organic sensation of crushed wet slate soil whith a smoky hint. Very airy and in balance offering a zen like feeling of effortlessness. On the palate dry and mineral driven with a most delightful exotic mid-palate fruit covering the strong slaty and salty minerality. With air more rich and silky with a very long and saline mineral finish. Very Fine (93 – 94p)
