On the nose loads of juicy dark fruits and berries, creme de cassis, blackberries and liquorice. On the palate layers of ripe fruit, fine tannins and a very good acidity for the vintage. This is a BIG wine, but still it’s a quite refined and fresh claret – a tribute to Alfred Tesseron’s organic work at the domaine. On the slightly negative side, while this is a perfectly made wine, the terroir of Pontet Canet does not offer the ultimate complexity found in the top estates. Still a truely Outstanding effort.
