The harvest weather in Burgundy is looking great. Dry and sunny with a light breeze … warming up a bit over the weekend. In other words quite perfect with lovely weather forecast all next week.
The whites in Côte de Beaune are being brought in as we speak, with producers like Arnaud Ente being quite advanced with the harvest. Others in Côte de Beaune are still waiting – but are expected to start later this week.
The main harvest for reds in Côte de Nuits will start next week, according to my information, with some of the significant Vosne producers starting on September 19th.
Here are a few photos of grapes from the miniscule Griottes-Chambertin plot of Domaine Duroché in Gevrey Chambertin (photo from September 10th by Pierre Duroché). Pierre Duroche began to harvest the white on Thursday September 12th.

Harvest impressions
The harvest had just begun when we reached Burgundy – and it is expected to pick up speed during the days and the week to come.
Here are some impressions …

Finally, a quick photo of DRC Romanée-Saint-Vivant on September 10th 2019 – with at least one week to harvest.

Dear Steen,
I more or less like your rating system and it’s true :readers like te see points. Enjoyed your take on legendary writers such as PARKER (ridiculous view on the 98 vintage), MEADOWS (points, points an,d points…boring read in my opinion) and MARTIN. Love your small scale approach however (whatever that may mean…I believe search for lesser known domaines such as DUROCHE, MILLOT, JULIEN…)KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
GREETINGS JOHAN

Brilliant idea to introduce 101- scoring wines. Hope some day a wine will get this evaluation……
