The Zoemie De Sousa Rose Brut Distinguee is a quite unusual rose made from 92% chardonnay and only 8% pinot noir. In the bouquet red fruit with a slight sweet note – hints of wild strawberries and raspberries + yeast, toast and citrus. On the palate good freshness, fine balance with a good body of red fruit. Is quite dry but has a sweet note in the fruit – hints of peach and strawberries. The finish is relatively short but with a quite powerfull fruit expression and a fresh acidity. A pleasure despite the sweet note – excellent as an aperitif. Need a careful pairing with food – the sweet notes didn’t go that well with my lobster!
