It appears that the Bault de la Morinière family, who has owned Domaine Bonneau du Matray for 200 years, has sold a majority of the estate to Stanley Kroenke. The Bault de la Morinière family should according to the article remain involved alongside Mr. Kroenke.
Armand de Maigret, the French general manager for the vineyard activities of Stanley Kroenke, will be in charge of Bonneau du Martray.
The estate is 11 hectares and produces only two wines – a white Corton-Charlemagne, and a red Corton.
A bit of background about Stanley Kroenke. He was born in 1947and is the owner of Kroenke Sports Enterprise, which includes stakes in the Denver Nuggets (basketball), Colorado Rapids (football), Colorado Avalanche (Ice Hockey), the Colorado Mammoth and the Los Angeles Rams. Kroenke is also the owner and majority shareholder of the English football club Arsenal.
The article will be updated as soon as I know more details about the deal and the future of the estate.
