Harvest 2021 is over, and the subsequent celebration opened the gates to a most beautiful rose garden in the form of a magnum of Domaine Garcia Baie-par-Baie Corton 2019.
Outstandingly detailed and tantalizing, sensually expressive with loads of floral details (different types of rose), the wines have an open character that can without doubt be credited to the baie-par-baie vinification employed by Pierre-Olivier Garcia.”
Domaine Moron-Garcia Corton Cuvée Baie-par-Baie 2019 in magnum is an explosion of red roses, with hints of sweet strawberries. This is so decadent at the moment, as the floral scents emanate fully and beautifully from the magnum. It has all the depth and intensity one could ask for in a grand cru, without any signs of over-extraction. Hedonistic fruit and silkiness rule over hedonistic joy. As good as I remembered – or even better – and clearly a vin d’emotion. What a blast!
