The Bourgogne Rouge “Clos Prieur” from Lecheneaut is a quite lovely budget Burgundy … if you like this somewhat frisky style. The nose is very expressive with red berry fruit … quite openly knit … with a quite heavy impression of toasted oak. On the palate good weight for this level … forward and energetic with the impression of a bigger wine. This is not a delicate and refined wine … it’s forward and a bit on the indecent side. I quite like it for what it is … a forward, drinkable and affordable entry level Bourgogne.
