A poetic name – «Viola Odorata» – from the Corgoloin area of Côte de Nuits Villages and the lieux-dits of «En Vireville» (2 different parcels) and «En Fontenelle». This is made from very old vines – 70 to 85 years old. The Naudin-Ferrand Côte de Nuits-Villages «Viola Odorata» 2012 is showing gorgeously, with organic fruit and plenty of sous-bois along with decadent notes of truffle and a slight orange hint. On the palate, silky and almost velvety, having some maturing notes. Not densely massive, but a hedonistic treasure. An adorable and delicate wine. I love it!
