The Gevrey Chambertin Aux Combottes 2013 from Rossignol-Trapet is a quite delicate effort. The bouquet offer pure red and dark berry fruit – slightly closed perhaps – but offering a lovely display of minerality. On the palate somewhat on the lighter side for a Aux Combottes – but pure and filigree with a nice fruit on the midpalate. I sense improvement at Rossignol-Trapet – and the intensity is good in this wine – and I really like the display of terroir. A bit polished and introvert currently – would love to see it unfold and offer a more espressive fruit.
