The Chambolle village from Roumier is a quite dense wine in the 2009 edition. The nose offers both red and more dark aromas – raspberries with a hint of cassis. Rh nose also have a fine hint of chambolle minerality. On the palate quite lush and dark notes with even more cassis and sweetness interacting with the normal red fruits and Chambolle minerality. After some time in the glass more focused with slightly more minerality. A bit on the heavy side – and I must say the Chambolle Combottes really is quite a lot better than the village wine in 2009. Still this is a lovely wine, but it’s a typical – but good – 2009.
(Drink from 2020) Very Good – 88p
