Good morning Burgundy …
When I started the reports on the 2024 vintage 14 days ago I did not plan the frequency or the dominance of these small vintage notes – it sort of took over my day, my work, the blog … and the harvest life.
This has been a surprising and spontaneous journey … and still is …
But after another full day of Burgundy impressions and visits, it is clear that we all need to regenerate the batteries and the optimism.
… focus on all the grapes still being harvested and on the good wines still being made in the cellars of Burgundy as we speak.
The 2024 vintage will despite all that is said and written find its natural place in history … and bring joy, pleasure, and intoxication.
Let’s enjoy the weekend with a lovely glass of Aligoté, Chardonnay or Pinot
Cheers
