Good morning Burgundy …
The harvest is now almost done except for the late starters and bloomers. A very difficult harvest with yields well below the normal … a disaster as several growers have described it.
I spoke to Jean-Louis Trapet yesterday who told me that they expect to finish Sunday or Monday depending on the weather. He confirmed the low yields but was pleased by the quality of the grapes coming in.
Etienne Grivot still has some days to finish his harvest and confirmed the yields of the vintage … never seen low yields like this!
There is now a lot of discussion coming regarding vineyard management amongst the neighbours and some growers need to show more attention to prevent the spread of mildew and other fungus to the neighbouring estate … it was a mess in 2024!
These harvest reports have been a surprising and spontaneous journey … but the daily reports are now ending and will be replaced by the normal Winehog articles.
…
Cheers
