J.-F. Coche-Dury, Meursault 2009

This Coche-Dury Meursault 2009 is showing much better than the bottle tasted in October 2011. In the bouquet yellow fruit, acacia, grape fruit, with elements of gun powder and popcorn. A more exotic and discrete expression than normally found in young Coche wines. On the palate quite dense and lush fruit – still it’s quite crisp and fresh for a 2009 white. While good for the vintage, it’s lacking some vibrant acidity and minerality to rival the fine wines made in 2004, 2007 and 2008. A very good effort from Coche … in a difficult year. Not a wine for long term cellaring.

The bottle tasted in October 2011 was a cuvee Les Narvaux from the Danish importer, but this wine is sourced from a French dealer – so could be a different cuvee?
