In 2022, Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg opened a beautiful guesthouse in Vosne-Romanée, located in the main building of this beloved, stylish estate.
A family’s history
The estate buildings were acquired in 1932 by Marie and Louis Gibourg for their children Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret – the founders of the Mugneret-Gibourg domaine.
The large, stately house quickly became a family home with the happy arrival of Georges, father of the estate’s current owners.
Upon Georges’ death in 1988, Jacqueline, his wife, took over the domaine with her daughters Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée.
The daughters wished to preserve the soul of the house, and today it has been transformed into the Maison de Jacqueline, a unique, warm, guest house in the spirit of the Mugneret-Gibourg family. It was important for Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée to pay tribute to their mother, hence the house’s name. Fanny Nauleau the daughter of Marie-Andrée is running this new exciting place.
Five rooms, with a view of Vosne
La Maison de Jacqueline was conceived to offer both modern comfort and the spirit of the Mugneret-Gibourg family, along with the history of this noble estate. It’s made up of five rooms which embody the spirit of the house, and underscore its link to the history of the family and its domaine.
The location permits one to soak in the ambience of Vosne-Romanée – one of the most acclaimed villages in wine history. There are vineyards located at the front of the lawn, and grand cru vineyards just a few hundred metres away.
As a place to relax and a space from which to explore the wine world with a glass of Muugneret-Gibourg in your hand, this is the core of Vosne spirit.
Impressions
My pictures do not do this beautiful place justice on an autumn afternoon. But despite my photographic shortcomings, the house is a warm welcome into the lovely world of Mugneret-Gibourg.
