New Records at the 155th Hospices de Beaune Auction

The Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru – Cuvée Baronne du Baÿ 2015 set a new record at the 155th Hospices de Beaune auction – with the price reaching € 117.700 per barrel. The old record was set at the 2014 auction when the Clos de la Roche Grand Cru – Cuvée Cyrot-Chaudron 2014 reached a price of € 74,900.

Also the whites broke the old record – as the Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru – Cuvée Dames de Flandres 2015 reached € 86,670 per barrel – compared to the old record from 2014 – when the same cuvée was priced at € 70,620.

On average prices were up with 37,3% according to Christies press release.

The special cherity auction of the prestigious “president’s cuvée” – one barrel of Corton Renardes was sold for € 480,000 breaking the old record of 400.000 euros from 2010. The price this year including buyers premium was € 513.600.
