Le Bistro de l’Hôtel is a classic in every way. The decor is classic, as is the service. These are competent and friendly hosts, with a classic take on things.

The food is excellent, made from fine ingredients in a traditional way – simple, refined dishes at their best. The whole roasted Poulet de Bresse is sent from heaven, and a must. Please note: While the dishes are traditional and well made, this is not haute cusine, just classic French country cooking.

The wine list is extensive, and reasonably priced wines can be found, though you’ll have to seek them out. A Vougeot 1er 2013 from Hudelot-Noëllat at 255 euros is not cheap, but is still at the end of the day good value. The list is very good in the higher end, and some bargains can occasionally be found. Know your wines; they do!

I love this place. It always delivers great food and a classy atmosphere by bucketloads.
