The 2000 Comtes de Champagne is a big and quite powerfull Blanc de Blanc. In the bouquet ripe and rich fruit and a very fine minerality. On the palate rich with a quite full body, a fine focus made by the fine minerality and crisp acidity. At the moment very fruity, and to the rich side, but will focus further as it matures. A very fine and perhaps even outstanding effort from Taittinger. The Comte de Champagne seem to be slightly overlook, despite the very high and consistent standard. In my view it’s much more interesting than the Dom Perignon in most vintages.
