Domaine des Chézeaux
Charles Van Canneyt has expanded his personal holdings with holdings from the Mercier Estate in Gevrey-Chambertin – an owner of both fine Gevrey vineyards and other spectacular plots.
Taking over vineyards that were rented out – as the Mercier vineyards were for decades – is a time-consuming process, and will take sustained effort. The vineyards are, however, great and exciting, Historic changes are occurring!

But somehow, the 2023s are a giant leap forward in quality. The phenolics in 2023 are very well-judged in general, though some wines really shine. Let’s get to it.

The 2023 vintage is a big step forward for Hudelot-Noëllat and Charles Van Canneyt. The phenolic ripeness is very well-gauged … and in general, the extraction is very suitable … a beautiful vintage …
Some of the lesser wines were sadly not tasted, as they were prepared for botteling.
