These are exciting times at Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg, with its new guest rooms in La Maison de Jacqueline opening this fall. Vosne-Romanée is suddenly brimming with tempting offers.
This time, it’s Lucie Teillaud-Mugneret accompanying my visit for tasting the 2021s. Lucie is the daughter of Marie-Christine Teillaud-Mugneret, one of the two Mugneret-Gibourg sisters. This was my first experience tasting with Lucie, whom I’ve met many times over the years, and a delightful one it was.

Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Bourgogne 2021
The Bourgogne rouge is brimming with 2021 freshness, and is so inviting after several years of more intense wines. This is a light-footed, enjoyable vin de soif that will provide early, fresh drinking. A cool wine that sends one back to the glory (but mixed) days before global warming. I adore this.
(Drink from 2026) – Very Good – (87p) – Tasted from cask 05/12/2022 –
Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée 2021
The Vosne Village is even livelier and more vivid; lighter than the 2020, this has a classic Vosne style (they don’t come much more classic than this). During recent years, Mugneret-Gibourg has sometimes teetered on the border of being dense and somewhat alcoholic (14%). It is lovely to see an old-school Mugneret-Gibourg; what a treat.
(Drink from 2030) – Fine – (89-90p) – Tasted from cask 05/12/2022 –
