No need to keep you in suspense: Domaine Méo-Camuzet did very well with its 2022s.
Jean-Nicolas Méo’s wines followed the nature and style of the vintage, and he made the wines with a gentle, generous hand. Bravo!
This is not the 2019 vintage that celebrates full-throttle wines like there’s no tomorrow. But 2022 has its moments of hedonistic joy, and produced many emotional wines.
Let’s go directly to the notes.
Tasting the 2022 Méo-Camuzets
Domaine Méo-Camuzet Hautes Côtes de Nuits Clos St. Philibert Blanc 2022
In tank in preparation for bottling, this is a vivid wine that benefits from the better acidity in the Hautes Côtes. Its slight reduction offers balance to the fine display of fruit. A good version from Méo, this shows all the benefits of the vintage.

Méo-Camuzet Frère & Soeur Bourgogne 2022
The Bourgogne rouge has a flirtatious nose, and is delicate and light-footed. It won’t shake the foundations of your life, but it is tasty, with nice emotional qualities.

Domaine Méo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges 2022
The NSG village is showing vivid, perfumed finesse. It’s perfumed in a slightly restrained way, yet still fulfils all the hedonistic needs, and is drinking well. This has a clear northern NSG note (the Vosne end). What can I say? It works well for me.
(Drink from 2030) – Very Good (88-89p) – Tasted 14/11/2023
Domaine Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée 2022
The Vosne village is from Les Barreaux et Aux Communes; a lovely combination. It is light-footed and delicate, with the 2022 fruit shining through. This is a delicious wine with medium density, and fine Vosne spices. What more could one wish for?
(Drink from 2030) – Very Good (90-91p) – Tasted 14/11/2023 –
Méo-Camuzet Frère & Soeur Chambolle-Musigny Feusselottes 2022
One of the top negociant wines, the Chambolle Feusselottes is as always a feast in the mouth. This is a vineyard that delivers the goods most years, and so it was in 2022. I have already tasted four examples, and they are hedonistic treats. This one’s a symphony of red-fruit notes, with hints of red and pink roses. It has Chambolle’s perfumed spiciness, and is earthier than the Charmes located below. Always a super treat.
(Drink from 2030) – Fine+ (93-94p) – Tasted 14/11/2023 –
