Trilogie en Côte de Nuits – tasting is a perfect oportunity to taste and compare.
A lot of the best producers from Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Flagey and to a lesser degree Morey and Chambolle present their wines at Chateau Clos de Vougeot – this year the 2015s.
The 2015 vintage is hyped … most likely a bit beyond reason at this point … and while a lot of the wines presented at this event – Trilogie en Côte de Nuits 2017 – showed the greatness of this vintage – others did also document that not all wines are equally good. Some wines are lacking both freshness and energy, some due to a slight overripeness others presumably due to water stress caused by lack of water during the hot period in the summer.
This is not new information for the readers of Winehog … so prudence is called for when buying the 2015 reds. Only the reds are – more or less – shown at this event, hence no reason to comment the white 2015s at this stage.
I will however over the next days taste quite a few 2015 whites .. so expect to come with an update about the 2015s whites shortly.
