Comte Lafon, Meursault Clos de la Barre 2001

By Steen Öhman January 6, 2013 -

The 2001 Meursault Clos de la Barre is really showing well. In the bouquet matured notes - almonds, acacia, hazelnuts and citrus. On the palate quite rich and fat with buttery chardonney aromas - spiced by a citrus mineral twist in the finish. It's in my view fully mature, and given the premox …

Domaine Meo-Camuzet, Echezeaux 2002

By Steen Öhman January 5, 2013 -

The 2002 Echezeaux from Meo-Camuzet is entering a martured and drinkable stage. The bouquet is showing lovely red notes of raspberries and strawberries with a hint of red current. On the palate juicy and quite vibrant red fruit - perfectly balanced with a fine integration of the oak. It's a lovely …

Domaine Dujac, Chambolle Musigny 1999

By Steen Öhman January 4, 2013 -

The Chambolle-Muigny 1999 from Domaine Dujac is slowly but surely starting to show matured notes. The bouquet is still somewhat closed with dark and red fruit and a slightly austere hint of tar. After some time in the glass the red fruit starts to take over with notes of strawberries and sous-bois. …

Domaine Bizot, Vosne Romanee 1er cru 1997

By Steen Öhman January 3, 2013 -

Domaine Bizot is one of the rising stars of Vosne Romanee. The 1997 Vosne Romanee 1er cru is made 100% from the climate Les Treux on the grand cru vineyard Echezeaux. The vintage 1997 is one of the very first made by Jean-Yves Bizot, who took over the wine making at this fine domaine back in …

Domaine Meo-Camuzet, Vosne Aux Brulees 2004

By Steen Öhman January 2, 2013 -

The 2004 Vosne Romanee Aux Brulees from Meo-Camuzet is a quite impressive effort for the vintage. The bouquet is beginning to show a bit of matured notes, with some red fruit in the layers of ripe but also somewhat austere pinot aromas – notes of raspberries, dark cherries, violets and asian spices. …
