Producer Visits - 2016 vintage

The tasting of the 2016 vintage began already in January 2017, with a few samples.

First larger tastings began in late March 2017 and continued with tasting in June 2017, and will continue in October and November 2017.

Finally I expect to taste more January and March 2018 - ending around the Grands Jours de Bourgogne.

Visit Domaine Lamarche – tasting the 2016s from cask

By Steen Öhman January 16, 2018 -

My second visit at Domaine Lamarche - and eager to see if the 2016s could match the fine wines made here in the 2015 vintage. I was impressed by the 2015s, as I historically have found wines from this estate somewhat underwhelming, but in recent years new generations and new standards have been …

Visit Domaine Trapet – Tasting the 2016s from cask

By Steen Öhman January 6, 2018 -

I was ready and looking forward - my second visit of Domaine Trapet - and my last visit of the November 2017 tour of Burgundy. A great pleasure to visit Jean-Louis Trapet, as he is one of visionary frontrunners of biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy. For further background see my article …

Visit Domaine Jean-Marc et Thomas Bouley – tasting of the 2016s

By Steen Öhman January 4, 2018 -

On my October 2017 trip to Burgundy I had the chance to visit Thomas Bouley at Domaine Jean-Marc et Thomas Bouley to taste the 2016s from cask. I have tasted a few wines from Thomas Bouley before - but never visited the estate before - another lack in my Burgundy education. Domaine Jean-Marc …
