Domaine Antoine Jobard, Bourgogne Blanc 2009

By Steen Öhman January 29, 2012 -

The Bourgogne Blanc from Antoine Jobard is a very very good bargain. In reality this is a fine village Meursault, made from 4 plots of village Meursault. The bouquet has a wonderful Meursault minerality with a fine ripe yellow fruit. Notes of honey, mandarin and citrus zest. On the palate fine …

Cécile Tremblay, Vosne Romanee Vieilles Vignes 2007

By Steen Öhman January 28, 2012 -

The 2007 Vosne Romanee from Cecile Tremblay is showing quite well. The nose is quite refined with Vosne spices, sweet red and dark fruit notes with elements of raspberries coulis. On the palate quite open, with good length and balance. Quite elegant, but lacking a little freshness and sparkle in the …

Georges Roumier, Chambolle Musigny 2004

By Steen Öhman November 29, 2011 -

The Chambolle 2004 from Roumier was slightly closed. On the nose some cherry aromas, but also some coffee and some less charming cheese notes. The palate was more forward, with some red fruit. Starting to show, but like a lot of 2004 wines slightly onedimensional and austere in the fruit expression. …

Ridge, Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay 1998

By Steen Öhman November 28, 2011 -

The Santa Cruz Chardonnay 1998 from Ridge was mature and dark gold. In the nose some very mature notes with apple, cheese and a hint of rubber. On the palate rich, fat but also with some acidity to balance the wine. At first a slight oxidation, but after some time in the glass it's gone. A big …

Chateau Latour a Pomerol 1989

By Steen Öhman October 31, 2011 -

The latour a Pomerol 1989 is quite developed and mature. In the bouquet some attractive notes of cedar and a slight hint of tobacco. Sadly also some wet cardboard in the nose. On the palate open and quite fruity. Rather unfocused and lacking a little backbone. Drinking well now - and would not …
