Very Fine (93 - 94)

Chateau Vieux Chateau Certan 2008

By Steen Öhman April 12, 2012 -

Vieux Chateau Certan 2008 is my kind of claret. In the bouquet notes of camphor, cedar, herbs, black and red fruits. On the palate very balanced and quite complex with fine minerality, good ripe fruit balanced by fine tannins. The wine seems very delicate, but in reality it's quite powerfull - …

Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere 2000

By Steen Öhman April 7, 2012 -

On the palate - same story - quite tight dark fruit, very ripe tannins and a medium body. Quite undeveloped for a 2000, …

Jean Grivot, Echezeaux 2009

By Steen Öhman April 2, 2012 -

Chateau Pontet Canet 2008

By Steen Öhman March 31, 2012 -

The Pontet Canet 2008 is a quite special wine. Pontet Canet has changed to organic winemaking during the last decade achieved full Agence Bio (AB) organic certification in the 2010 vintage. This is in my view really showing in the wines, as they seems fresher and more refined. The bouquet in the …

Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg, Echezeaux 2009

By Steen Öhman March 29, 2012 -

Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg is one of the gems in Vosne Romanee. The Echezeaux from Mugneret-Gibourg comes from two parcels: Les Rouges du Bas et Les Quartiers de Nuits, both with a deep soil consisting of gravel and silt. The 2009 vintage of the Echezeaux is a real beauty. The bouquet is showing …
