Comte Lafon, Meursault Clos de la Barre 2009

The 2009 Meursault Clos de la Barre from Comte Lafon is exotic but still quite understated and fresh compared to a lot of other 09s. Slightly reduced in the nose with some exotic orchard fruits, citrus infused minerality and a slight hint of gun powder. On the palate quite rich exotic yellow fruit, with a lovely lemony miniralic finish. It’s charming with a good minerality and freshness for the vintage – it’s surprisingly focused with a nice complexity for a 09 village wine. Lovely and very impressive for the vintage.
