The Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 2013 from Martelet de Cherisey is still very youthful. The bouquet is offering rich almost exotic white and yellow orchard fruits – very juicy and rich for the vintage – with the tremendous minerality of the fine terroir lurking underneath the fruit. On the palate more or less same story – very rich for a 2013 – but well focused by the fine acidity and the intense minerality. Lovely mid-palate fruit but in my view it need some time to shed the baby fat – to bring forward the minerality and to focus the wine. The 2012 is drinking much better now .. but this most likely a better wine – as the powerful terroir will master the youthful fruit in one or two years

Yes I know .. it’s the 2012 on the photo .. no picture of the 2013 sadly
