Nicolas Faure’s wines are, for me, perfect examples of vins d’émotion. They are not perfect wines, they are not technical wines, but they are wines of joy and pleasure, made for hedonistic indulgence with friends (good friends).
They are also, sadly, difficult to buy and getting costly in the filthy grey market. I really should keep quiet about these wines and enjoy and drink the few bottles I can get!
Perhaps my subconscious was playing a trick on me in May, as I forgot to publish the article about the blissful 2022s. Maybe it was teIling me to write no more about this delightful secret!
It’s essential to remember to enjoy and let the passion flow – preferably in big stems!

Domaine Nicolas Faure’s 2022s
These wines are all about hedonistic enjoyment, and the 2022s show these same qualities – joy, indulgence, and drinkability – in spades.
The question is, however, is it too much? Or does the vintage provide enough structure and refinement to make truly memorable and great wines?
Let me just say (or rather, shout): YES! They are outstandingly good if you appreciate Nicolas Faure’s style.
No these are not ultra-detailed wines (few of the ’22s are). Rather, they are impressionistic works made with an ample brush (hog-hair brush?) catching the light and sparkle of pinot noir.
Let’s taste!

- Visit to Domaine Nicolas Faure – Tasting the 2021s from CaskVin d’émotion is seen by some as merely a marketing term, or a concept designed to promote a certain type of wine – or even the Winehog himself. - Nicolas Faure Bourgogne Aligoté La Corvee de Bully 2014Another chance to drink and enjoy this great 2014 aligoté. Nicolas Faure’s Bourgogne Aligoté La Corvee de Bully 2014 is for me one of the very best aligotés, with its almost grand-cru-like intensity. The nose remains pure and vibrant, with delicate white orchard fruits, slight hints of anise, and lovely, intense, finely grained minerality. ...
